History

Kanzaki Station opened on 27 January 1952 as an added stop on the Japanese National Railways Kōtoku Line, initially without staffed operations. The station was staffed beginning 29 May 1963, but in October 1972 it returned to unstaffed status under a simplified commission arrangement. With the 1 April 1987 privatisation of JNR the station passed to JR Shikoku. Located in Sanuki, Kagawa Prefecture, Kanzaki has a single side platform serving one track, with a wooden waiting-room building and no wheelchair access via the short stair to the platform. Only local services call here; numbered T16, the station's information panel labels it the "Mirokunosato Station".
