History
Iyo-Komatsu Station opened on 1 May 1923 as an intermediate stop when the then Sanuki Line was extended westwards from Iyo-Saijō to Nyūgawa under Japanese Government Railways operation. Freight handling ended in 1971 and parcel handling in February 1984, after which the station became unstaffed under an outsourced ticketing arrangement that April. Operation passed to JR Shikoku on 1 April 1987 at privatisation. In October 1991 JR Shikoku opened a directly-run Willie Winkie bakery inside the station; the bakery later closed.
