History
Minami-Yukuhashi Station opened on 13 March 1988 as an added stop on the existing Nippō Main Line, in the city of Yukuhashi, Fukuoka Prefecture, under JR Kyushu. Automatic ticket gates were installed in 2001, and SUGOCA card support was added on 1 March 2009. Ticket-window sales ended on 11 March 2022 and the station became unstaffed the following day; until that point operations had been outsourced to JR Kyushu Railway Service. The station consists of two opposed side platforms serving two tracks and is connected to the station building by a footbridge. Daily boardings in fiscal 2024 averaged about 1,225.
