History
Murasaki Station opened on 27 March 2010 on the Nishitetsu Tenjin Ōmuta Line in Chikushino, Fukuoka, becoming the line's newest stop until Sakuranamiki Station opened in March 2024. Plans dated from 2007 under the working name Futsukaichi-Minami, but land acquisition delays pushed the opening back to 2010, with construction costing roughly 700 million yen. Station numbering was introduced on 1 February 2017, and a centralised station-management system entered trial use in October 2024 before full rollout on 1 April 2025. The station has two opposed ground-level side platforms with no in-station crossover, requiring passengers to leave and re-enter to switch directions.

Notes
In 2015 Nishitetsu temporarily renamed the station "Nishitetsu Murasaki Station Da-Z!" in tribute to Momoiro Clover Z member Reni Takagi, whose image color is purple — the station name kanji "紫" means "purple".
