History
Kamimuragakuenmae Station opened on 13 March 2010, built at the request of Ichikikushikino City after a 2006 application to JR Kyushu. The platform and shelter — costing roughly 140 million yen — were funded in full by the adjacent Kamimura Gakuen private school, while the city covered the approximately 120 million yen cost of stairs, elevator and station forecourt. SUGOCA service started on 1 December 2012. A pedestrian bridge linking the station directly to the school's campus, replacing a busy National Route 3 crossing, opened on 3 July 2020; the school funded 30.7 m of the bridge and the Kagoshima National Highway Office funded the 26.3 m crossing of the route itself. The station remains unstaffed throughout.
