History
Fukushima Station opened on 12 April 1905 with the Hanshin Main Line, in Fukushima Ward, Ōsaka, originally at grade on the present Lazona Osaka site. Wartime damage caused a suspension in 1945, with services resuming on 26 October 1948; on the same day the nearby Deiribashi Station was abolished. The station was placed underground beneath National Route 2 on 5 September 1993, becoming an express stop from 11 April 1999. From the introduction of the Hanshin Namba Line through-service on 20 March 2009 express stops were withdrawn and replaced by Section Express stops. Station numbering was introduced on 1 April 2014.

Notes
After the station's relocation underground the former at-grade site was rebuilt as Hotel Hanshin and other commercial buildings, while the old line right-of-way now houses a police box and shops.
